Our customer‘s bathrooms
Shower enclosure for three
When Alice Bendova moved into her house, she had the option of furbishing two bathrooms for herself and her two little children. For the smaller bathroom we recommended the GlassLine large frameless shower enclosure 120 x 80 cm with ultra-flat tray. They all fit in the shower and they immediately fell in love with this ritual. The GlassLine shower enclosure is no longer part of our product range and has been fully replaced by the Brilliant shower enclosure. For the moments of relaxation we supplied Alice with the Gentiana corner bathtub for the bigger, family bathroom, where the children can enjoy its seat above the water level and wide sides providing enough space for their toys. Alice has lots of cosmetic products which fit comfortably in the cabinets from the Classic Concept.
In her first flat, which Dominika got with the help of her parents, there were only 5 m2 available for the bathroom. The new owner, therefore, had to plan every detail. Instead of the risky process of combining products from various manufacturers, she chose our comprehensive Rosa 95 Concept which proved to be the solution for both bathing and showering, as well as sufficient storage. "I loved that, with the Rosa Concept, I did not have to think about what else might be missing, because it simply had everything I needed, not only the bathtub, washbasin and cabinets, but also the details such as tap, waste trap, shower and hose".
LoveStory in the attic
The attic of the 300 year old country house contained an area of 18 m2 which has now been transformed into a generous sized bathroom with an extraordinary story. Initially, the owner had chosen the RAVAK LoveStory bathtub which he liked for the size (big enough for two people) and emotions evoking curves. Before long he took a chance and entered the Pěkné bydlení (Lovely living) magazine competition for a bathroom transformation with the RAVAK and RAKO brands. He won. So, alongside the LoveStory bathtub, we supplied a made-to-measure walk-in shower enclosure with a Chrome tray from cast marble and the extraordinary bathroom was born.
The bathroom that started with a misfortune and ended up with satisfaction
Due to a broken leg, an elderly lady had to move from the first floor of her house to the ground floor and it was necessary to prepare a suitable facility in the form of a barrier free bathroom. The family found their inspiration in the Chrome Concept with a coordinated design. So, the bathroom was equipped with a bathtub tap with a functional slanted shoulder that can be moved to the wall during bath time and, thus, does not obstruct the bathing space. Both the washbasin with cabinet and the shower enclosure are from the same Concept. "Although I had wanted a shower enclosure with dimensions of 100 x 100 cm to fit into an alcove left after a wardrobe, the final size had to be 96 x 100 cm. The Ravak staff were accommodating and they adjusted the shower door to the desired size. They assured me that this was an everyday part of their customer service and that nowadays the workmen sometimes don‘t get it quite right," explained the owner. For better comfort and safety, we equipped the shower enclosure with the Ovo folding seat, which provides her with safety and comfort when having a shower.
Just like a hedgehog in a cage
This tiny bathroom had been so obscured by a large corner bathtub that it became difficult to move in it. However, the owner was not ready to give up having bath so a new bathroom design had to be created. Together with a designer from Marianne Bydlení (Marianne Living) magazine we suggested the Avocado Concept bathtub and washbasin for this bathroom, because this Concept was especially designed for smaller spaces. The washbasin hangs above the bathtub in the foot area and, therefore, does not take any extra space and still provides enough washing space. Replacing white tiles with brown ones with a wood design made the room cosier and warmer. The room has been visually tied together with the Chrome water taps (washbasin and bathtub), both by the RAVAK brand.
Bathroom with special requirements
Learning to live with a wheelchair is a challenge in itself, which can hardly be beaten, and this made us realise that compared to this, designing a fully customised shower enclosure is quite a petty challenge. Our design was based on the Langer family's requirement for a shower enclosure built in the space of the former bath which no more suited their handicapped daughter. Another specific requirement was the need to open the shower enclosure mainly inwards and to provide sufficiently wide access for the wheelchair. Using the Chrome shower door, which can be found in our standard offer in sizes 80 and 90 cm, and a fixed wall, we designed a shower enclosure with an extended width of 186 cm. In less than two weeks, our team in Příbram developed a fully customised solution which cannot be found in our catalogue or in the online configurator. It is based on a straight connection of the shower door with the adhering fixed wall – In standard installations these are connected in a rectangular shape. In this way, the Terezka' s shower enclosure has a comfortable access of approx. 82 cm in width and, to meet her requirements, it opens both inwards and outwards. Despite the fact that each extra centimetre in width requires a firmer and stiffer structure, it looks airy and subtle. This is thanks to large safety glass surfaces which however do not require much care from the family. The manufacturer treated the glass with the RAVAK AntiCalc® technology repelling water and preventing limescale. Therefore, the glass does not easily turn opaque and does not require any daily maintenance.
We fitted the shower enclosure with a stainless steel floor drain which enhances the beauty of ceramic floor tiles while providing sufficient drainage of water. The Langer family can use both the head and hand showers.
We chose the washbasin and tap from the same product range to achieve a harmonised design of the whole bathroom. The Chrome washbasin is made of cast marble, has a simple and clear shape and provides large washing area and plenty of shelf space. Instead of a standard washbasin tap, the Langers fitted the washbasin with a high sink tap which also belongs to the Chrome concept. It provides a comfortable place for washing hands beneath it and Terezka can use it well even when on a wheelchair. For the same reason, we did not offer to place a cabinet under the washbasin since it would obstruct Terezka's access to the washbasin.
